Hello March.

We pause from our regularly scheduled Wednesday COOK post to bring you…March.

March is here. Spring is on it’s way! It’s a time for growth and renewal and refreshing…and maybe even a little spring cleaning.

We are so excited for this month. Jami and I have been hard at work on some really big, exciting projects. Be sure to stay tuned. You don’t want to miss what’s coming!

Here’s a new little gem for you…the monthly faith focus.

Monthly Faith Focus

On the first of every month we will release our faith focus. Most of our Friday LIVE posts, and possibly some others, will be centered around one aspect of our faith that we want to grow. You might have picked up that February’s focus was love and friendship.

Rather than keep our faith focus a mystery, we want you to join us by focusing on one thing for one month. Work really hard at that one thing and let’s see how God moves. Let’s count on big things from Him.

We also want to grow in our ability to memorize Scripture. Having God’s word on our hearts and minds is so important. Rather than giving you a new Scripture every week, which, for someone with the memory of a goldfish (ME!), can feel overwhelming, we will have one Scripture for the month. We even have an adorable printable for you to hang in your home.

March Faith Focus: Generosity

Remember this: Whoever sows sparingly will also reap sparingly, and whoever sows generously will also reap generously. Each of you should give what you have decided in your heart to give, not reluctantly or under compulsion, for God loves a cheerful giver. And God is able to bless you abundantly, so that in all things at all times, having all that you need, you will abound in every good work.
2 Corinthians 9:6-8

If you look up the definitions of generosity, you will find that it means to give. But not to give just a little bit, to give liberally. I love that our God is so sweet to us in that when He gives us a gentle command, guidance, or instruction, He has usually also set the perfect example for us. I can think of nothing more generous, more liberally given, than God’s love for us. His generous love led him to give us His son. His generous love led Him to give us His Spirit. His generous loves causes Him to provide for our needs. His generous loves means His forgiveness never runs out.

God blesses us abundantly so that we can in turn bless others. It’s hard to be generous when we don’t recognize, or have forgotten about, God’s generosity to us. This month, let’s not forget the ways God has been generous to us, both spiritually and materially. Each day, try to think back on a time when God was generous to you. Record it so that out of our abundance, we can give generously.
